Stone, carved until it lets the light through
The jaali is the pierced stone screen of Mughal and Indo-Islamic architecture — marble or sandstone cut into lattices so fine that light and breeze pass through while the room behind stays private. Jaali lays that geometry around the page, repeating and unhurried.
It is quiet and exacting, a style of craftsmanship rather than colour. It suits a Nikah as naturally as an evening reception, and anywhere that old stone is the backdrop — Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Hyderabad.
Good for
- Nikahs, Walimas and evening receptions
- Weddings among Mughal-era architecture
- Emerald, ivory or indigo
The style sets the envelope, the opening card, the dividers and the closing, and the typeface your names are set in. Everything else is the same in every style — each guest greeted by name, only their celebrations, directions to each venue — and it can be changed at any time, even after the invitation has been sent.
