Under the temple tower, over the threshold
The gopuram is the towering gateway of a South Indian temple, rising in tiers over the entrance, and the kolam is the pattern of dots and looping lines drawn in rice flour at the threshold of a Tamil home each morning. Gopuram puts both on the card: the tower over your names, the kolam at the foot.
It is a style of welcome and of blessing — the gateway you pass through, the threshold drawn for whoever arrives. It is at home at a temple wedding, a muhurtham in the early morning, and in sandalwood and gold.
Good for
- Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayali weddings
- Temple ceremonies and early muhurthams
- Chandan, emerald or maroon
The style sets the envelope, the opening card, the dividers and the closing, and the typeface your names are set in. Everything else is the same in every style — each guest greeted by name, only their celebrations, directions to each venue — and it can be changed at any time, even after the invitation has been sent.
