Bombay, 1930s, by the sea
Mumbai has one of the largest collections of Art Deco buildings in the world — the cinemas, flats and offices along Marine Drive and the Oval Maidan, recognised by UNESCO in 2018. Bombay Deco borrows their sunbursts, stepped corners and wide-spaced lettering.
It is the style for a city wedding and a couple who would rather not look traditional: glamorous, a little cinematic, and made for an evening. It suits a cocktail night, a reception in a ballroom, and jamun or indigo.
Good for
- City weddings and cocktail evenings
- Couples who love a touch of glamour
- Jamun, indigo or ivory
The style sets the envelope, the opening card, the dividers and the closing, and the typeface your names are set in. Everything else is the same in every style — each guest greeted by name, only their celebrations, directions to each venue — and it can be changed at any time, even after the invitation has been sent.
